What is on your bucket list? Travelling, trying out different cuisines, skydiving, these are just some of the things I would love to do. I must say that travelling takes a lot of courage and independence. Being away from the family and meeting new people. But I believe that it would be worthwhile, with countless possibilities and learning new cultures and traditions.
I would love to travel to New Zealand someday. It is mostly known for its beautiful scenery, and as a nature lover, I would be thrilled if given the chance to visit the country. Apart from the scenic views, I am down for some adrenaline rush. Let’s look at some of the things you can do in New Zealand!
Sea Life Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium
Calling all animal lovers out there, this is for you! Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium remains one of Auckland, New Zealand’s top attractions and is home to many sea animals.
Purchase their general admission pass and meet new friends as there are at least 30 live animal exhibits in spectacular displays. It also includes the world largest Sub-Antarctic penguin colony exhibit and an underwater viewing tunnel.
Apart from that, you can also get up and close with the only colony of Sub-Antarctic penguins in their icy domain at the Antarctic Ice Adventure. Other experiences include the Shark Cage Adventure, where you will be given the chance to encounter sharks underwater.
Also, do not forget to get your Penguin Passport to engage in a playful enrichment session and a chance to go behind-the-scenes to know more about how these penguins are taken care of. Do remember to snap adorable images with the penguins too!
Ready for some adrenaline rush? At Skyline Rotorua, you get to engage in thrilling activities such as luge and ziplining.
Hop onto the vehicle and challenge your friends and family to see who the Luge master is. First, take a ride to the top while you feast your eyes on the scenic views through the Redwoods Forest. Upon reaching, you will then have to defeat the intermediate 1.7 kilometres track down
The track features chicanes, a tunnel and fantastic view s over the city and Lake Rotorua. Bring your family along as this activity is fit for all ages – yes even children!
Apart from the Luge, you can also challenge your friends and engage in a new experience of Mount Ngongotaha! Zoom Ziplines feature two unique ziplines, each about 400 metres. This is such an amazing experience – I would definitely be up for it!
Kaituna River Rafting
Organised by Kaituna Cascades, Kaituna River Rafting is known to be best rafting in New Zealand. It offers a Grade 5 white-water experience on one of New Zealand’s beautiful rivers. You can expect exciting spills and thrills as you take on the famous Tutea Falls, the highest rafted waterfall, standing about 7 metres tall.
You will be guided with several instructors as you enjoy this 50-minute ride down 14 rapids in a twisting water jungle canyon. You will be provided with safety gears such as helmets, life jackets and others. All you have to bring is your own swimwear, short and a towel. Plus, it is GoPro friendly, so bring your GoPro to capture this thrilling experience!
Alpine Heliski Adventure
This is definitely a must-go if you ask me! This one-of-a-kind experience offers several packages. Each package includes professional guides, a full safety briefing, safety equipment, skis and boards for rental and even food – yes, lunch is provided!
Their heliski terrain is massive, spanning over eight separate mountains. It provides you with access to thousands of hectares of bowls, snowy ridges, and powder basins. Separated in to two regions – northern and southern, each provides you with a different experience!
That is so much adrenaline rush if you ask me, but I am down for any of these! I would definitely participate in these activities if given the chance. Share this with your friends and family and this might be the next item on your bucket list!
